Emotional Intelligence is the phrase coined by Daniel Goleman and it summarises all of these skills and more. We will work through each of the principles that influence our EQ and see how we can improve in this important area.

3. A world without blame or judgement. Is it possible?

This conversation highlights the ‘blame cycle’ and how devastating it can be to  any workplace. Carol explains why blaming others is a natural part of the human condition, and will lead your team through a number of case studies and then use the model of the blame cycle to explain thie dysfunction, and how to stop it from happening in your workplace. The Conversation will teach people how to deal with conflict and upsets in a way that is respectful and less stressful.

In this workshop Carol will engage the team in a conversation about giving and receiving feedback. She will share a Feedback Model and help people understand how to give effective feedback so everyone feels appreciated. Once people feel appreciated and valued they will work with renewed commitment and energy.

Carol has coached many business owners who have been dealing with high levels of stress, and she herself has gone through a period of burnout and subsequent recovery. DISC is a behaviour Profile Assessment that gives people a greater understanding of themselves and others. Carol uses DISC because it is easy to learn whilst offering powerful insights into human behaviour. Once your team understands the different characteristics of the four DISC types they will be more tolerant and understanding of the people around them. (this workshop requires participants to complete a personal DISC profile and will attract an additional price for the DISC books)

8. We’re all adults here.

when we’re young who do we learn from? Our parents! And for many people this ‘Parent’ model is the only one they know when they start supervising. Unfortunately, ‘Parent’ like behaviour attracts ‘Child’ like behaviour in others. A dysfunctional paradigm is created with the supervisor being controlling and demanding, and the team members not stepping up and taking responsibility. Understanding the PAC model allows a team to go to a whole new level of interaction and effectiveness.
